Jeff Halsted

Senior Pastor

I love being a follower of Christ!    Given both what I have been saved from and Who I have been saved to love and delight in, how could I not joy in surrendering to the Triune God?  I exist for the glory of God and the flourishing of his people.

I love being a husband to Robin.  Outside of my salvation, being married to this wonder partner in ministry for 26 years has been my greatest joy.  I will continue to dance with her to the end of life.

I love being a dad and poppa to my children and grandchildren.  My pastoral ministry is simply an extension of who I am as a husband and father.  My children walk with the Lord and are advancing the spiritual heritage entrusted to them.  Praise the Lord!

I love being a pastor to this church family.  I have committed myself to strive to give every opportunity for each believer to be made complete in Jesus Christ.  The brothers and sisters here at CBC have grown me, challenged me, loved me, encouraged me, and have walked with our family as we have grown up together in Christ.

Doug Crawford

Associate Pastor

Pastor Douglas A. Crawford II (PDAC) and his wife, Rose, have 4 children: Sheyenne (19), Ryan (16), Joshua Douglas “JD” (2) and a baby due in February. He has enjoyed serving the Body at CBC since 2005 in a variety of capacities.

Growing up in a ministry family in Rockford, MI, PDAC learned early in life the value of the faith community. Many of his favorite memories revolve around activities either at the church or with people from the church. He loves being with members of the church and hearing their stories from days gone by and celebrating the faithfulness of God to His People.

Because of his experience on the stage in high school and college and being the firstborn of six boisterous children (4 sisters, 1 brother), you will usually hear PDAC before ever seeing him. Whether it is his laugh or normal speaking voice, one never has to look too hard to find him-especially if there are snacks around.

One of PDAC’s great joys in serving the congregation is seeing young people discover ways to partner in the work of the Gospel. As the youth pastor for 12 years at CBC, many of the students from the early years are becoming moms and dads raising up a new generation in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.                                         Philippians 1:9-11

Deb Grandmason

Executive Assistant

Deb has been a member of CBC since 1976, moving to Grand Rapids from the east side of Michigan. She surrendered her life to Christ at a young age. Deb joined the staff in 2007 after working at several non-profit organizations.

When she is not at work, Deb enjoys life with her husband, Bob, to whom she’s been married over 44 years. They have been blessed with two daughters and sons-in-law. Bob and Deb have also been privileged to enjoy the antics of the three best grandchildren anyone can have. In addition, if you want to know how many days until Christmas just ask her!

Andrew McClain

Student Ministries Leader

Andrew has served on staff at Calvary Baptist Church since 2016 as business manager. He achieved an undergrad degree from Cornerstone University and an MBA from Davenport University. He also serves in the student ministries area with middle and high school students building on his previous experience working at summer camp and in media ministries. Andrew has been married to his wife, Brooke, since 2015 and enjoys cooking and sports.

Karee Mouw

Administrative Assistant

Karee is a follower of Jesus Christ, a wife, and a mom united with the Body of Christ. She was born into Calvary Baptist Church and her parents were sent by CBC as missionaries. Growing up in Togo, West Africa as a missionary  kid, Karee knew that she could come back to the United States and find a home at Calvary Baptist Church. She was baptized at CBC and welcomed into membership. Karee met and married Brandon, her husband of 19 years. They have two children, Avery and Sawyer.

It seems fitting that Karee can invest back into the life of this church as the administrative assistant for worship ministries and also contribute to women's ministries and missions. She loves doing anything creative and dies a little inside if you make her add or subtract.

Karee also loves to be creative for the flourishing of this local assembly; whether it is singing on a Sunday morning, working on an art project, or helping the next generation of believers to understand the theology of worship. One of her favorite things is to watch is the Body of Christ working together to glorify God as we all wait for His return!
