Adult Bible Fellowships

An essential aspect of Calvary's ministry is our Adult Bible Fellowships (ABF) that follow the 9:30 service.  ABF's are a place where individuals can connect with members of the CBC family in a smaller group setting.

The purpose of the ABF ministry is to:

  • Build Christian community through the formation of relationships.

  • Grow in deeper understanding of God’s story through the study of His Word and related subjects.

  • Equip individuals for effective ministry to the broader Body of Christ.

We believe you will find a spiritual home in one of our ABFs and we look forward to serving the Savior together.  Below are the current ABFs that meet after the service.

The Foundations class is a joyful, caring, gathering of Christ-followers who desire to live out their faith in both radical and ordinary ways. Whether single or married, younger or more seasoned, you will find deep, sincere relationships with the members of this class. We support one another in many practical ways, both in class and during the week, as we traverse life together. Our weekly prayer times together are characterized by authenticity and transparency, and our Bible study times are interactive and designed to let God's Word shape our daily lives and character.

An intergenerational team of servers, committed to growth through interactive teaching and learning from scripture and each other, fostering tangible loving and caring relationships, striving to be open and open hearted, wholeheartedly supporting the ministry of God at CBC.

Image Bearers

The Image Bearers ABF is a community of believers committed to "finishing well." With a passion for life in Christ, we enjoy learning about God and His plan from His Word.  We laugh, love and learn together as we encounter life's challenges.  Through our current study - an overview of the Old Testament - we are taking special notice of the character of God and how He has worked in the past.  Our desire is to strengthen our walk with Him, and to reflect His image and character to others.  We welcome you.

We invite you to visit Mosaic! We are a diverse group of people of various ages (college to retirees) and walks of life who value good biblical teaching, engaging in vibrant discussions around the word of God, and partnering together for the sake of the gospel. We strive to be open and genuine with one another in our spiritual growth as we seek to serve and minister to those around us. We would love to have you join us!

The Philadelphian ABF is a close-knit group of (mostly) retired seniors who enjoy studying the Word, as well as praying for and caring for one another. They have a reputation for bringing good snacks, and a potluck during the ABF hour is not unusual. They like to do book studies and often have informal, lively discussions. This fall they plan to continue their study of the book of Daniel, which is reminding them of God's sovereign control over world events and leaders.

The SonRisers ABF welcomes people of all ages in all different stages of life. Our class is a group of people who love the Lord and are vitally interested in studying His word. We like to do "5th Sunday potlucks" and "Supper Six" monthly small-group get-togethers. Currently we are studying the letter to the Hebrews. It shows the superiority of the Lord Jesus in all situations and is interspersed with warnings of how to live the Christian life.
